Manila Science high School (Mataas na Paaralang Pang-agham ng Maynila) is the first science high school in the Philippines. It is located at Taft ave., cor. Padre Faura St., Ermita Manila and was established on October 1, 1963. It has a special science curriculum and was patterned after the Bronx Science High School in New York, USA. In 1963, Augusto Alzona, the Father of Manila Science High School, spearheaded the graduation of the first special science class.

Today, MaSci offers Grades 7 to 12. It has the slogan of "Sustaining the Tradition of Excellence" and motto of "Science, Truth, Country". Its official newspapers are The Nucleus and Ang Ubod. Recently, Manila had celebrated the annual Boys and Girls Week, and the Boy Mayor and Girl Councilor of 5th District came from Manila Science High School.

It has been 54 years since the start of sustaining the tradition of excellence, and it's still producing graduates that have gone on to become leaders, influencers, decision makers, and role model.

"Language is a source of misunderstanding." -McLuhan, 1964 Language is a instrument or medium that we use to communicate. If we misuse it, we can disseminate wrong information. We also have different languages that can cause different interpretations. Language is also used in nonverbal, some are intended for the receiver but some are not which also causes misunderstanding. Language also comes with culture. We have different cultures that others may fund it wrong or disrespect to them. Does the user's/audience's own background or experience affect the interpretation of messages? How? Yes. We all have different beliefs and perspectives that we believed in.
